I do not know exactly if i have the right to post this or what version we are going ahead with but here is a little info.

 

Look forward to seeing a new PvE Combat Equation hopefully this is slightly more accurate damage which was my intention i look forward to getting a lot of feedback on this so test it like your trying to brake it!

  [How to Fix] Errors with Starting your server

ok so i had the origional Emu got it working with the 777 Client.....etc and have just got the new USA one Wink *thumbs up guys*

 

Now i did have some issues getting it all working.

Here is how i fixed my issues.

 

I downloaded the Server files 1st from 2

 

ok so i patched up and my DB went in fine however.. when i came to start the server...

 

DUN DUN DRRRRRRRRRRRRUN

 

(this is ghost like because i had to be fast fingered to hit print screen and READ the error...

 

Ok so this was the login server i started.. it is saying i am missing LoginServer.cfg

(the Game server said the same only *Missing GameServer.cfg*)

 

so i thought and took a look at my old Emu files, there they were Wink

 

ok so to fix the server side down load the server files from 2 THEN patch the new server files OVER THE TOP in the SAME folder as the files you have just downloaded.

 

NOW try and start your server.. i recommend starting the login server 1st.

 

Now all should be fixed and working.

Hey guys, Ive seen that some ppl is getting problems to play and its needed to install that patch, so here my questions go.

 

If I use the updater to make everybody download that patch (on my server) new ppl shouldnt get the problem right?

Ok so as i said my math skills are not the greatest and this calculation is far from done but i had nothing better to do so i decided to try and create a calculation method for HP/MP Stealer Suction which might also work for Seals on Equipment.

 

This was developed out of context of the design of the emu so it will take some adapting to shove it in there.

about the value returning zero it should not happen but in the event another area of code goes a muck i put it in there just to be safe Big Grin might also add in that if a zero does occur it writes an error to the console saying that a said value came back zero(idk just thinking of ideas)

 

very messy still very new to the idea go easy on it please. Smile

 

Notes: Require adjustments for higher damage, Must not allow for CurHp gain to exceed MaxHP, Timing Values to be generated for Stealing time, work more on making the calculation so that it is more realistic maybe a decrease of .65 to .45 could manage to even the output.

  Seal IDs - what they are and how to use them

In this thread i will share with you my experience of making seals on items; something i immediately noticed when i dropped my first piece of gear was that there were no seals on it. so i swiftly sought to rectify this, by firstly looking for a list of seals or some way in which to view/ input new seals more easily.

 

I am aware at this point of the seal viewer/ option editor things made by other people, and while i am sure they are viable for most; it didnt come with any instructions, and as suchi found it more difficult to use personally speaking.

 

So, i put it to the side until i became more familiar with the database and how items and their attributes (including seals) were stored. It is then that i actually realised how simple it is to change the items attributes from the database; however the easiest way to do it combines in-game and database manipulation.

 

First though i had to find out the seal IDs so i could add the ones i wanted. so i spawned 3 Icons of Count - /itemdrop 1063 0 0 1

 

From there i simply typed in IDs from 1 - 95, in 3 sets of 5, keeping the values of every seal at 1 for consistency. The results are documented below:

Once i knew the seals, it was just a case of inputting the data in a way that the database would understand. To help others like myself, who are having trouble with the creation of seals on items, i will try my best to make this as detailed and helpful an example as possible; and if theres anything that is unclear to you after reading, post a reply and ill try and respond with haste.

 

Firstly may i say that i have only been using this emulator for 2 days, and i have managed to seal all my gear as desired, thus proving its not that hard; this example will be supplemented with screenshots to help you further understand how to do it yourself Smile

 

Now, onto the example. To make it easy we will be dealing with the first item in my inventory, as shown below.

as we can see the item has evasion seals, constitution, and move speed.

 

If we look in the attached .txt file we will see the corresponding IDs for these seals are - 23 14 15 23 3 64 (From top to bottom)

 

NB - For newer users of this emulator i would recommend getting the basic item via the /itemdrop command; as you may trip up when trying to implement it solely from the database

 

now comes the tricky bit, implementing the seals into the database. So since the Item is in our first inventory space we see that it is located here in our database.

Then, all we need to do is find the "a_optionX_type" & "a_optionX_value" field that corresponds to our gloves.

 

Since our gloves are in the "a_item0_index" on row 0, all we need to do is scroll along to "a_option0_type" and input our seals of choice in row 0, under that field; once this is done put the values for the seals in the "a_option0_value". A Secreenshot of my Database is located below.

Once youve done it once, and got it working, youll see its just a case of rinse and repeat Smile. i have tried my best to explain this to you in as simple a way as possible, and i believe that not only is this method more gratifying; but it is also more benifical to you in the long run; as it will enable you to understand the database to a greater extent, and allow you to read it as if you were looking at your inventory in game.
