DDOS attacks are a pain in the arse for anyone, your best bet is to pay some money towards services such as Hyperfilter. Script wise it is possible but again requires nothing but trial and error and it still is capable of being dragged down because these days DDOS attacks are getting worse.

There is another way to reduce the attacks, but you will probably lose more then the attackers. If you find the ip of the attack, you can ask your service provider to block that range, but of course, if you have players that are in that range, they will also not be able to play. ike Bash said, its a pain in the arse.

i cant remember the name but there was a tool for that that closed the attacked ports but this would shut down the servers for a while..

I don't think there is any free solution against ddos attacks.
U could atleast ask your hoster to filter all udp traffic to your server, you don't need that.
Also investing in a hardware firewall could help a little, and u can limit connections from a single ip in your ip tables.
