So could someone make a php file that would write to the DB the new password ... or a php file for registered users?

You need the truepasswd of EP2-Accounts, and than..

update bg_user SET passwd = truepasswd;
update bg_user SET passwd = MD5(passwd);

In this case u might be lucky with true password. But normally u can NEVER EVER EVER store the passwords without encryption in the database. You owe that little security to your players

yeah i understand that Wiz ... I have a Noisy web page and his sets up with sha256..... but i worked it out maybe i can fine tune it later ......unless someone offers a fix to it ...

Well u can let people login to the website using the old hash where they can set a new password and that will be stored in the md5 encryption
