- syned - 11-04-2014 Hello LCKB, a friend on mine got some time left on a small CentOS x32 Server, which is running without an gui, so my question is if there is a way (and if - how) i can setup the files without the Interface? - It'd be only for me and i friend to test some changes. Regards, Syned - zicke - 11-04-2014 sure, linux system for servers every without gui. Its exactly the same you only must write all in the terminal - Wizatek - 11-04-2014 to add to zicke, its not only possible, you should do this, at all times. ditch all the graphical stuff, there is nothing graphical about a server - syned - 11-04-2014 Thank you both for your replys, i'll try it this way. ![]() - Kekers - 11-05-2014 Using the terminal is the fastest way to get things done. I would suggest learning how to use it as the server OS platform isn't going to ever change (wasting resources on an xserver). - syned - 11-05-2014 Is there a guide or something for a pure Terminal installation, or ist it more like learning by doing? - zicke - 11-05-2014 Is there a guide or something for a pure Terminal installation, or ist it more like learning by doing? check the forum out all, i think all tutorials for terminal ![]() - syned - 11-05-2014 check the forum out all, i think all tutorials for terminal ![]() I already found it, it was in the general section, ty. :p |
