- nicolasg - 04-05-2022 Hello, how are you, recently I started messing around with paypal and the notification system, I had many doubts about how to act in case of a refund, any server administrator who can talk about it? What do or what would do in case of a refund?, block the account / ban the player, try to roll back the progress obtained?, I do not ask for help. It is simply curious to know what is done in that hypothetical case, I also think it can be a good debate / topic of conversation... Sorry 4 my bad english :$ - dethunter12 - 04-05-2022 block the player, try to work things out with the player before they refund. Send proof to PayPal that they got received and used their virtual currency. I think you can't win everything but its a start. When talking with PayPal, try to sound professional. - nicolasg - 04-05-2022 Obviously make a claim to paypal, to try not lose your money, that is not under discussion, my doubts are more for the game side / the account / user characters, I suppose that trying to make a rollback of everything is too tedious and what is " better" block the user without more... - dethunter12 - 04-05-2022 block the user delete their character whichever you want to do. if they are refunding money you can't just take back the money they already spent. Ultimately, its your decision you can let them continue play or don't up to you but i'd personally block them. - Scura - 04-06-2022 Just try to explain at paypal that "they" bought from you virtual currency which is not protected by the paypal protection. Unfortunately a customer can always start a chargeback by directly contact the bank (and not paypal). If is it the case, you are forced to refound the customer. You can even try to ban the player, but "he" may have sent the items to other accounts so until you not hardware ban him, may be difficult to block consequences - AphelionLC - 03-14-2023 As a administrator you can win every single case in pay-pal. Atm I have a 100% win record for 9 months running. I have a template for each claim - Refund by "did not receive item" - Refund by "Unauthorized Transaction" - Refund by "Item not as expected" My top tips would be; - Include personal data so pay-pal can confirm the details on the payment (They need IP and device address if you have it) - Include information about your "non-refund" policy in ToS - Include players email address that is linked to account - Include transaction details (Processed/Confirmed/Authorized) - Show that they player in-fact received the item (Screenshot of username with balance of cash) - Nikolee - 03-15-2023 You could also share those templates ? - Reza - 03-17-2023 My advice is don't use PayPal. Use another payment provider that does not allow refunds. - Sutz - 03-22-2023 If you ban the char then they have even more rights to claim it back as the item they paid for they don't have access too which paypal will agree. ONLY ban it if they win the claim!! You stand a greater chance of a win now days as Paypal accept virtual currency which they never use too, got my old paypal disactivated due to virtual currency. I now have a business Paypal but virtual currency does still worry me with players putting in for full refunds. You could try using a 3rd party to deal with donations but they will always take a % of the takings but you have that safety net ? |
