If Im getting this right, you cant connect to the server with your normal IP address, but if you turn a proxy on it will work?  Maybe your vps/dedi has some IPs blocked in ip tables, it happened to me once.  Same thing goes for your webserver if it happens.  So just check iptables in your vps and see if your IP is blocked.

That will usually only work if he has a vps that has Fail2Ban service, dedicated servers ran at home, most people dont have that installed but most VPS companies will have that Fail2Ban service that will block your ip in suspicious cases..

 

 

 

try copying a new sl.dta and engine.dll(no encrypted one) and try connecting after getting new ones..Ive had issues like this before just make sure you are starting off with new ones for the just in case, also mega,lckb and couple other LC servers engine.dll doesnt read the sl.dta so make sure you have one that does ^^
