PHP Vs JAVA
#2

So your asking Java Servlets(JSP) vs PHP.

JSP is similar to ASP(actually its the same, JSP uses java and ASP uses .NET). The problem with JSP, ASP they are limited to the Web Server You use(JSP->tomcat), (ASP ->IIS).

The huge difference is that PHP hosting are more cheap then JSP hosting. Since JSP uses java, this will make it easier for debugging since Java is a statically compiled language. Jsp is easier for multithread programming too. and many other stuff.

I would say go for PHP since its cheaper finding an host, you would not need java jre/jdk +ant to compile and deploy the project, and you can find examples easy on the net.
