1. If you want to change a world base thatis alredy invisible to visibe just select it if you know where it is and press P (i think) to change to polygons mode and itll say a polygon has been selected, then press CTRL+A to select all the polygons, then clik Q and there is a tab where there will be an option named "Invisible" that will be checked.

If you want to create one just make it with primitives.

 

2. Its not possible without the fixed editor.
