Actually Flash is a client based programing(it runs on the client), its good for interface, in this case Flash is for interface. 

There are the PHP pages(same as using HTML tags for forms and interfaces), that takes the info from the forms.

 

How about Servlets, or Haskell(one of my favorite Functioal Programing Language), Or much interesting using Soap(C++ version is gsoap);

 

Btw Soap is alot more secure (Amazon is made using Soap and Rest services).

 

PHP/ASP is fine, these languages are more common among people. Im 100% certain most people here dont know flash, and never will even bother with it. I personally have no need for it, its [CeNsOrEd] and slow. HTML is slowly replacing all the flash based objects on the web anyways.
