I never really used linux for developing lc stuff, but i'd say that if it says "gcc44" it would be compiled with that version. perhaps try "gcc48", it's just a guess tho.

If not, just check what your file output is called, on windows they also put the version and other informations like this: libboost_atomic-vc143-mt-gd-x64-1_79.lib
