the url in lccnct.dta browses to thaturl/ip.txt
inside ip.txt there is the referal to the update server.
it will also search for "notice.htm" and "update.htm" those are the 2 html pages that come in the right side of the patcher. notice is the top one.
the ip.txt file can look like this :

the patcher will go to that url and search for a file named version.txt
in that file is the current patch version that is on there.
lets say the version is 1501 and the client have version 1500, then it will search for 1501.zip and download and extract it.
The version can be found in vtm.brn
