GameServer connection
#11

Ah "outside" I didn't notice that Try testing the port for GS from a site 2 If it says ok then im not really sure.

If its a root server an GS is binded to the root IP then it should work. If GS is binding to a lan IP no one can connect from internet.

You can only bind to the ext ip if it is a root/vps server if its a vbox you wont get this working unless you use hamachi but you will need to play with all your network settings to get the vbox to see hamachi ip so GS can bind to it xD

hahah How to play with network settings? I have virtualbox serwer just for friends

#13

You don't stand much chance with ep2 from vbox lol its mainly for testing or local fun.

The best thing you could do now is use the ep1 2008 windows files an import all the working ep2 stuff ofc not all of it will work but you can fix a lot more now with using ep2 stuff.

It's by my to testing and my friends want too... So I wll play with networks Thanks for solutions

MaX, second way is that install linux at pc and open all ports, so u can build correct and all can connect but i`m not sure that with linux will run lc client

#16
any idea we can connect gameserver without hamachi behind router from outside. all ports open in router only login server can login .

#17

Its just not possible because the loginserver will just send the ip to the client that the connector knows.

So if the gameserver is listening at 192.168.0.1 for example, then the connector will send that to the loginserver, and the loginserver will send that to the client. perfectly fine if the client is in that network, but from the outside it wont work.

for that the connector needs to be modified to send a static IP address that is hardcoded in the connector.

For linux there are also programs like hamachi available

If i have the decompiled connector, can we post an "how to" for the community?

I need help for that though!!! That requires skills that i dont manage yet! Im still trying to make a codecave in the GameServer, to change its behaviour. I havent managed that yet!
