thats not important sometimes you get timed out if you use wrong LoginServer u must download an server without encryption and Nation Check that was the problem on my Server! you can check the Serverside Release thread i´ve posted there how to set the LoginServer etc!

I dont know why, but try, if the window opened, to wait for a minute... Dont close the message window only wait....

If your running on a single core machine, with the client and server on the same machine. The client will hog the 1 thread your machine has and bog the server. In result the client sends login packet, but server is too busy trying to catch up on 1% processing power that by the time it responds to the client, the client has timed out. Try throttling back the client 30% and try again.
