libmysqlclient error

We have 2 option more.

1- giving the full privileges to the user root by using the "%" to ensure it gives full connection.

2 - check in my.cnf file if its binding only to your loopback, if so, then will never accept outside connections.

If you go for the first option, dont forget to flush privileges, or wont do anything

hmm..

The mysql SERVER is on a diff machine thats windows 7 not linux.

My Vbox and laptop CAN connect to that mysql server machine fine but only the LC server cant.

The same Vbox the LC server is on thats not working CAN connect fine with linux command mysql.

I really dont see how them 2 options would effect my problem as its clear the vbox CAN connect.

yeahn you are right, im sorry just now i understood the config. Hmmm your machine with win7 have the firewall deactivated?

#34

Still again if there was a block the linux command would also fail connection.

Look closely to this image from my vbox:

See how SubHelper is failing connection an right after I connect with mysql command fine Undecided

Very strange an I just cant work out wtf is going on.

I have checked the bin config an its fine it should work!!

#35

although, its not thru the same port.... MaX, please go to my.cnf file and change :

bind-address = 0.0.0.0

I know you have connection, BUT the game server uses the root user to access thru another port, what makes me belive that , mysql is blocking the connection.

#36
And another thing, Centos 6.4 has been reported faulty. Maybe you should stick with 6.3, after trying all these things, and if none work

#37
for my mysql server? if so done an still lc no conn

#38
give all permissions to user root with "%" if this doesnt work... well i need to think more

#39

lol ok will try it.

Im starting to think maybe just install mysql on vbox xD would be alot easier -,-

Thankyou for your help, I think its time to call this idea quits an go the simple way Tongue

Install mysql on vbox an use the loopback 127.0.0.1

#40

thats the simplest way, althouh the less funny Tongue

if you still want to try then go on mysql command and issue this :

GRANT ALL ON *.* TO root@%;

flush privileges;

quit
