It's called PAE read on it you'll learn a lot, you can use up to 64gb of ram on 32bit linux's with this enabled

 

i know that but still the memory for 1 Process ( which the compiling is) is still restricted to 4 gb. So the compiling still only use 4 gb instead of 10gb.

kinda weird cuz it uses all my memory when i compile :/

The problem is, if you use vmware like me is the limit at 8gb for 32bit or 64gb for 64bit. -> 2

I think the best way for fast compiling is a really fast ssd, but this is only my opinion.

i have a hybrid HDD and an SSD isn't much of a difference for me on vmware
