How to connect CentOs to the outside world from HOME
#1

first you need to set it up as follow if you have a cable connection ...

1. Modem to Nic card one in linux machine...
   A. Linux machine has 2 nic/ethernet cards
Nic card 1 is for your internet into the linux machine.... is why the modem goes to that nic card....
Nic card 2 is for sharing your internet connection from the linux machine other to other machines....

Nic card 2 needs to be set to share to other computer in ip4 settings
In centos GUI, "network settings" is at the top of the linux machine you have a icon that looks like two computers linked together right click that icon and select "edit connections" a window will pop up with your two connections in the machine click on the nic card two(the one that goes to the other pcs/router) then click
edit on the right side of that window, then a screen will appear with different tabs.. Click on the tab
that says "IPv4 Settings" and in the top of that tab is a Drop down menu called "Method".. click the drop
down menu and select "Shared to other computers"....

2. Nic card 2 from linux machine goes to the other computers or to a router in my case....

your done u should be connected to the outside world ...dont forget to block everything u need before opening up your new Server to the world...
