Hey good community of LCKB ?

I have been wanting to expand my limited knowledge of how it all works for quite some time now, and after hours of browsing through different forums and sections without finding a solid definition of how LC is built I thought it was high time we made a topic about it. I'm sure this is really obvious for some, hence this should be a fairly short topic.

The question is, how is the typical server build structure-wise? Assuming we all know the components you need to make a server, how does the different systems integrate into each others? What parts do you have to edit on the client side, and what parts are edited in database side? Is there any clear definition on this? 

Example: All the different names you see in the game needs to be edited on the database side


A big and possibly dumb question im sure, and if I'm completely out of line asking it then we can go ahead and remove the topic ?  But it would be great help to new people to get a basic understanding of it all.

Hi,

like the title says, i'm getting that annoying error when compiling client sources Engine & EntitiesMP :

But before this happens, everything worked right. I didn't even touch anything, i only edited one file as it should without doing shit, and when i wanted to compile then i get this.

All directories are also right configured, because /index.php?/profile/2167-dethunter12/&do=hovercard" data-mentionid="2167" href="/index.php?/profile/2167-dethunter12/" rel="">@dethunter12 helped me with also to get all fixed, now there is again an issue like always...

and with EntitiesMP it the same as the screen above but with more lines.

The files are still there in 'Classes' folder :

  problem compiling the client

I'm trying to compile the client and getting some errors, most of which I solved with good old google, but I can't find it at all.

 

Error    103    error LNK1104: cannot open file 'libboost_thread-vc100-mt-x32-1_69.lib' 



Could anyone help? I believe the lib32-msvc-10.0 folder is missing, but I didn't find it in any boost_* repository to download.
